Giving children wings of hope
With the support of businesses, government, faith communities, foundations and individuals, the Kgosi Neighbourhood Foundation (KNF) offers low cost education and meals to children aged between 4-6 who are living in poverty in Jeppestown, Johannesburg.
KNF has assisted more than 1 000 chidren since it was founded in 2004.

Three of our Grade R students from Wings of Hope School were chosen to receive a bursary from the Mary Oppenheimer & Daughters Foundation to further their studies at Dominican Convent Primary School.
Trip to the Zoo
The Grade R and pre-Grade R classes at Wings Of Hope school visited the Johannesburg Zoo as a learning experience. It is important for children to see the different types of animals that they learn about in person and possibly get to touch them.

According to the 2019 South African Early Childhood Review study which was conducted by Ilifa Labantwana, an early childhood development programme, about 1.1 million children aged between 3-5 in South Africa do not attend an early childhood learning programme.

There are many people who help us in and around the community and it is great learning about how they help us in our day-to-day-activities. These people include teachers, doctors, police officers, fire fighters, chefs and so on.
